Poetry returned to Downtown Canton with the inaugural event of "Take the Knight Off" the Writing Knights 2nd Friday contribution to the arts district.

Azriel Johnson and Skylark Bruce filled in for the unfortunate cancellation of Michael Bernstein.

 Langley Smith followed up with a rousing set of poetry.

 Zach Ashley closed us out with some brilliant words of his own.

 Take the Knight was/is sponsored by some great local businesses.

The Canton Brewing Company’s Speakeasy tap room is open for business and features a great lineup of beers all brewed right here in our very own brewery. When you visit the Speakeasy you’ll be tasting the traditions of Canton’s premier brewer, dating all the way back to the 1880s. Many of our beers are based on the historical styles for which we were originally known. But we also know you love the new traditions being created in craft brewing so we have plenty of those too. You’ll enjoy tasting amidst the very brewing equipment we use everyday!

Leah Mueller resides in western Washington. Her work has been published in Cultured Vultures, Origins Journal, Quail Bell, Typoetic, Talking Soup, Silver Birch Press, Semaphore, MaDCap, The Rain, Party, and Disaster Society, and many others. Leah's chapbook, “Queen of Dorksville” was published in 2012 by Crisis Chronicles Press. Leah's new book of poetry and prose, entitled “Allergic to Everything” was recently published by Writing Knights Press. Her book of humorous erotic short stories, 'The Underside of the Snake” was published by Red Ferret Press in November.

Poet, novelist, and all around shady character. An ink spatter analyst by day and a serial writer by night. Shaman of the International Temple of Self Expression. The founder and director of Writing Knights Press, Azriel Johnson, is hopefully releasing "The Gravity of Chainsaws" through Crisis Chronicles Press. Among his other releases "Hellfire, Heavensent" thru Writing Knights Press, "Poemaholic" thru The Poet's Haven and his recently released fantasy/alternate history novel "Sunset Red".
